What Suz thought when she met her Dom~ Perilous Play by Suz deMello (#BDSM #MySexySaturday @fetlife)

The assignment from TPTB at My Sexy Saturday is to write about our characters' sexy thoughts.

Here's what I thought when I met the man who would beome my first Dom, Trapper Hart.

The cover of Perilous Play states: based on a true story. The fact is, very little in this memoir is fiction.

Places and names have been changed. The time in my life when these events occurred is altered. One scene was added, to wrap up the story and tie it in a tidy bow.

But otherwise, it’s all true.

Check it out:

One woman’s journey into the contemporary kink underworld, Perilous Play is Suz deMello’s explosive personal account of her experiences with BDSM. Engaging and honest, this groundbreaking memoir will grab you and never let you go.

Trapper is a real person. That’s not his true name of course, but I gave my word that I wouldn’t reveal his secret life. I don’t owe him anything—not after the way he treated me—but I do keep my word.

Trapper and I spent the rest of the day together. We went to a vegan restaurant and two bars, including one dive so obscure that even Trapper got a little lost in the vast transit system despite his wealth of knowledge about the east bay. As we went back to school so he could pick up his bike, he started a conversation about sex.

Bondage sex. BDSM sex. My heart raced. I said I was interested.

He wanted to know what role I preferred.

I said I thought I tended toward submission while trying not to squirm too obviously. I found some courage and asked him out Saturday night. He said he wanted to go to his condo at Sea Ranch, a beautiful beachside getaway on the Sonoma coast.

I tried not to be too disappointed. Later in the week he clarified—he wanted me to go with him.

I was stunned. I was actually considering going with a man I barely knew to his condo, alone, a hundred miles away from my home, where I would have BDSM sex with him as his submissive.

Had I lost my mind? Yes, but not completely. I might not have known Trapper well, but I saw where he hung out. As far as I knew, few serial killers were bike-riding, Birkenstock-wearing Berkeley-based vegans. In fact, even though I had a legal background and an interest in true crime news, I had never heard of a bike-riding vegan serial killer.

So I figured I’d be okay.

After their night of passion...from Viking in Tartan

My assignment from TPTB at Book Boyfriends Cafe is "the morning after." Breakfast in bed would be too predictable for most of my characters, especiallly if they hailed from thirteenth-century Scotland.

This selection is from Viking in Tartan, which is found in the best-selling boxed set, the Naughty List. This is a group of winter holiday stories, and mine takes place on Yule, 1260. In the story, the arrival of a Viking raider spells change for little Clan Kilbirnie, especially for the headman's daughter.

As you might imagine, the Viking and the virgin spend a passionate night together. And what happened the next day?

Her other swain came to call.

They dressed, Erland in his customary black—a rough tunic, trews and
boots, with a short sword scabbarded in his belt. Rhona’s pleated chansil smock was embroidered around the neck and hem, and her cyrtel tightly woven green wool. He hadn’t doubted her word that she was the local laird’s daughter, but her clothing, despite their dampness and salt-stains, proved her honesty.
He led the way out of the cave and into the thin daylight. The storm had passed, and the sun struggled through low-hanging fog to glitter off the weapons of a half-dozen warriors surrounding the cave’s mouth.
Energy shot through his veins. He shoved Rhona behind him and snapped, “Get back in there and do not come out ’til I say.”
White-faced, she obeyed without protest. He advanced, dropping one hand to his sword’s hilt. “Who threatens me and my lady without cause?”
“Without cause?” One of the warriors broke from the group. He was protected by a bronze chest plate over a tunic and black trews, and wore a plaidie of red, white and green wrapped around his shoulders. Erland recognized the pattern. Stuart of Bute.
So this was the swain his lady had risked death to flee. Bute’s narrow, cruel eyes and seamed face contrasted with full, almost girlish lips. Though he seemed fit, he was indeed older, and certainly Erland could defeat him in a fair fight.
But fights were rarely fair. He shifted his gaze to the rest of the group. Some wore bows slung over their shoulders, less helpful in close quarters. But all wore swords.
Erland tugged on his ear. Six against one. Not great odds, but not impossible. Mayhap he could improve his chances. “I challenge you for the lady’s hand.”
Bute snorted. “I wouldnae have the whore on a golden platter.”
Erland sprang at him, seized his head and with a mighty twist, wrenched it off.

Katie O'Sullivan shares "My Kind of Crazy" and a first kiss

Katie says:

There’s something about a first kiss that always gets me, when two characters feel a certain magnetic pull toward each other and can’t resist… Whether it’s a sweet romance or steamy erotica, the first time the main characters come together should sparkle with emotion and magic.

In MY KIND OF CRAZY, the heroine tries to resist. Jumping to wild conclusions, she decided the guy is a player, and Kendall had enough of that with her ex-husband. But the sparks that she feels every time she’s near him prove too hard to ignore.

Here’s a little taste from the book, the scene where Kendall finally lets her emotions rule, if only for a few stolen moments.

Excerpt from MY KIND OF CRAZY:

He reached out and gently wrapped his fingers around her arm, not letting her leave the front hall. “Kendall?”
Again with the major electrical sparks zinging through her! She was afraid to look him in the eye, afraid he’d be able to see it in her face, the devastating effect he had on her. They stood so close she felt the heat from his body radiating, warming the small space between them. His touch was fire on her bare skin. She finally raised her gaze to meet his eyes, luminous and deep. She felt like she might fall into those green pools and drown.
Breathe in, breathe out. She searched for words to answer the unasked questions in his eyes but none came to her.
“Kendall.” He whispered her name again as if it were the answer to some puzzle he was trying to solve.
Thoughts whirled through her head at lightning speed. Nothing about this made any kind of sense— especially not her attraction to a complete stranger. But there was no denying the electricity that ran through her body from his simplest touch.
“I’m not looking for a relationship right now.” Her low whisper matched his.
“What are you looking for?” He moved closer, his lips brushing her mouth, tasting of beer and salted peanuts. His warmth pulsed through her in shock waves, her traitorous body responding all too eagerly. He tasted so good, the salt sizzling on her tongue. The kiss shifted from soft and gentle to solid and deep. Arms slid around her, pulling her close, but she was too wrapped up in the kiss to protest. Why complain? He felt so good, the hard muscles of his arms and planed chest underneath that thin dress shirt, and another hardness evident, despite his proper dress pants.
Suddenly Kendall remembered that this was the same man who was fooling around with the married cougar of a librarian. She wanted to be outraged for the unwitting spouse, but all she could think was, Lucky librarian.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and shoulders. Vaguely she registered the wall behind her, pressing hard against her back. His clever tongue tangled with her own, sending fresh waves of desire rippling through her.
Even as her body screamed Yes!she slid her hand between them, firmly pushing him backward and breaking the connection. “I can’t do this. I don’t want to get hurt again.” Her eyes searched his before she turned her head to look away. If she looked into those eyes for one more second she would forget all about saying no and let her body do whatever it wanted.

A Dark and Dangerous Midweek Tease~~Perilous Play, The Real Fifty Shades (#FSOG #fiftyshades #50shades #bdsm)

I'm trying a blog hop that's new to me--at least I think it's a blog hop. It seems a little different than most I've participated in. It's called the midweek tease.

This week I'm promoting my fictionalized memoir, Perilous Play: the Real Fifty Shades, in anticipation of the release of the filmed version of Fifty Shades of Grey on Valentine's Day. My story however, is decidedly dark and dangerous by comparison to the Harlequin-esque Fifty Shades novel.

One woman’s journey into the contemporary kink underworld, Perilous Play is
Suz deMello’s explosive personal account of her experiences with BDSM. Engaging and honest, this groundbreaking memoir will grab you and never let you go.

Here’s an excerpt of the only fictional event—a ménage with two men I did have relationships with. Alas, I never got that ménage experience I’ve craved for so long! But it’s a hot scene and I hope you enjoy it.

I drove to Lafayette feeling hot and ready. I thought I’d be able to persuade Mark to allow me to top him again, which really excited me. That emotion quickly changed to deliciously terrified seconds after I rang his doorbell.

Because Tobias opened the door.

Mark stood behind him, arms folded over his torso. Both looked grim, which surprised me. Wasn’t Mark’s birthday a joyous occasion? Squelching nerves, I entered, handed Mark his gift and hugged him. “Happy birthday, sweetie.”

“Sweetie,” he said, contempt infusing his voice. “Is that right?”
“Well, yeah, honey, of course.” I still had no idea what was going on. Tobias had stated quite firmly when we’d met that he wasn’t interested in a threesome with another man, so why was he here? He certainly didn’t look as though he was in a celebratory mood. Though mystified, I had no course of action other than to wait until the men told me what was up.

I set down my toy bag and handed Mark his gift. Without opening it, he tossed it onto the kitchen counter, reached into his pocket and took out his cell phone. So did Tobias. After brief finger-tapping, they held out the phones so I could read the screens. On each, I saw:

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving! I hope today is everything you want it to be, sweetie!

I was fucked. Or going to be fucked. “Uh, guys,” I started, backing away and holding out my hands in entreaty. “Uh, I know this looks bad, but—“

Tobias reached around me and shoved the door closed so hard it slammed. His other arm caged me between his solid body and the door.

I wasn’t going anywhere Tobias didn’t want me to go.

I stared into his dark eyes, trying to read his expression, divine his thoughts. The only conclusion that I could reasonably reach is that I had insulted my Dom.

“You know what you’ve done,” he said.

I nodded.

“You know it wasn’t appropriate.” His mouth twitched and I realized he was trying not to grin.

I nodded again, squelching my answering smile, playing the game. Why not? It was fun.

His eyes twinkled. “You’ve been a very, very bad girl.” He ran a finger along my jawline.

Shivering, I closed my eyes, allowing myself to get into role, immerse myself in the scene. Was I safe?

Oh, yes. I’d been with both men before. They knew my limits and were entirely trustworthy.

“Do you accept your punishment?”

Excitement zipped through me as though I’d dared to touch a live Taser. “Yes, sir,” I said sweetly, batting my eyelashes.

I peeked around Tobias. Though our relationship was more equal—in fact, Mark enjoyed me topping him—he didn’t look pleased. He picked up a couple of dark-gray objects that lay on his kitchen counter.

They clanked.

Shackles.

How is Cooking Like Writing? Ask Chris Redding!

I like to cook. I love to eat. I married a man who loves to cook and likes to eat. We have two teen sons, so you can guess that there is a lot of food consumed in my house
And cooked. I’m kind of amused by this “clean eating” movement. It’s a great idea, but for me it’s just called eating. When the kids were younger I used the occasional packaged rice or a can of soup in something. Most of the time they didn’t like it. My older son loves steamed rice. The kind you get from the Chinese restaurant. He’d eat a bowl of that all by itself.
A few years ago, I decided to cut out all of those products completely. I make things of my own like enchilada sauce or even taco seasoning.
Author Chris Redding
The upshot of this is we have started our own binder of recipes. Our family cookbook you might want to call it. When each son moves out, he will get a copy of it. And, yes, both boys can cook basic stuff. Neither has taken to it, but I wasn’t a fan of cooking at that age either. In college I lived on boxed mac and cheese, Hamburger Helper and pizza from where I worked. I didn’t really start cooking until I got married.
I find cooking to be a lot like writing.
You have ingredients, which are your character and your plot. You have to cook them, or in the case of a book, make those ingredients do what you want for the story. I usually finish a draft, then let it sit. This is the meat resting after it’s cooked and before you cut it. The revision process is the putting more salt or pepper if the dish needs it.
Now, that I have you all hungry, I’m going to share a recipe. This is an appetizer, great for a party. Any person whose house I have brought this to asked me to bring it the next time.

Cheese Puff Appetizers

Ingredients:
2C shredded cheddar cheese
2C shredded low fat cheese
1 cup butter melted
2 C all purpose flour
2 dashes any hot sauce, any heat level
1 jar pitted green olives or can of sliced jalapenos

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a cookie sheet

In a small bowl, mix together cheeses, butter, flour, and Worcestershire sauce. Knead the dough. Pinch the dough into small balls, flatten them in the palm of your hand, then wrap an olive in the dough. Arrange the wrapped olives on the cookie sheet.

Bake for 15 minutes or slightly brown.

You can use all regular fat cheese, but the texture is better with some lower fat cheese because of the moisture content. I found the olives from the olive bar stay too wet to use for this. A substitute if you don’t like olives would be a jalapeno pepper, but I’d cut down on the hot sauce then.

Lisabet Sarai says that Adversaries can be Lovers

Lisabet says:

Sometimes we authors don’t know what we’re getting into.

My romantic erotica novel Nasty Business, just re-released by Fireborn Publishing, had its genesis in the rejection letter for another book. Declining that proposal, the editor wrote “Miranda isn’t exactly the sort of kick ass heroine we’re looking for.”

Okay, I thought. You want “kick ass”? I’ll give it to you in spades. I proceeded to create Ruby Maxwell Chen – brilliant, ambitious, ruthless, and sexy as hell. Readers who favor “nice” heroines might have a hard time with Ruby. She’s determined to succeed and willing to bend the rules if that’s what it takes. Her Chinese tycoon father taught her how to seek out and exploit her opponents’ vulnerabilities. Ruby takes his tutelage further, using her vibrant sexuality to both lure and punish her competitors.

I honestly don’t know where Ruby came from. Once I’d envisioned her, though, I needed a hero who’d be more of a challenge than the typical businessmen she wraps around her finger. What sort of guy would give Ruby a run for her money – and ultimately manage to penetrate her well-armored heart?

Rick Martell was the somewhat unlikely result of my contemplation. Although he’s no movie star, he is, through some biological quirk, irresistible to women. He’s almost as smart as Ruby, equally self-confident, and even more arrogant. And he likes to win as much as she does.

Although they’re competing for a multi-billion dollar deal, the two are drawn to one another from the start, and their adversarial relationship does not preclude a sexual connection. Indeed, each tries to use the other’s lust to further his or her own plans. As the game heats up, the deal loses importance. Surrender becomes the ultimate prize.

Nasty Business is different from anything else I’ve written. Most of my protagonists partake of some of my personal traits, but aside from her intelligence (and her interest in BDSM), Ruby is nothing like me. (Really!) I’ve never had a partner like Rick, either, though physically he has some resemblance to one of my lovers when I was in graduate school – someone whose chemistry really meshed with mine.

Anyway, as I’m sure Suz will confirm, once characters have their claws sunk into your consciousness, you can’t let go until you’ve told their story. Nasty Business includes a lot of dirty tricks and a lot of sex, but ultimately it’s a love story. And I have to admit, it’s one of my favorite books, despite the dubious morality of the hero and heroine. Ruby and Rick may be brilliant, but they’re both blind to their personal needs. It takes some rather extreme games to open their eyes.

Blurb

All’s fair in love and business.

Ruby Maxwell Chen, lovely and ruthless CEO of a huge British business empire, is used to getting her way. When she encounters the strangely charismatic American entrepreneur Rick Martell, though, she wonders if she hasn't finally met her match.

From the trendy clubs of London to the Hollywood Hills, Ruby and Rick compete for ownership of a strategic factory in Malaysia. Neither has any qualms about using sexual wiles to smooth the path to success. Neither anticipates that their mutual attraction will turn into something far more intense and difficult to control.

As their struggle for dominance escalates, they draw their employees and associates into their outrageous power games. The stakes could scarcely be higher, as Ruby and Rick play for the ultimate prize: a night of total physical surrender.

Excerpt

“So, for the trip home, why don’t I put down the top? It’s a lovely evening. I’ll take us back along Mulholland Drive. Slower, but a lot more scenic.”

“Why not?” I fasten my hair into a loose ponytail and settle back in my seat, steeling myself for another aching ride with him within arm’s reach, a million miles away.

Driving in the open car is a totally different experience, though, exhilarating and a bit scary. The wind tears at my hair, tangles it in my eyes, steals my breath. It’s too loud to talk, but we’re both laughing as he steers the roadster off the highway and up into the hills.

Mulholland Drive turns out to be a narrow, torturously twisted road that runs along the crest of the mountains above Hollywood. Rick drives much faster than seems safe, yet once again he’s relaxed and in control. The MG careens around curves, hugging the pavement. My whole body hums with excitement. I can’t tell how much is sexual and how much born of our reckless velocity and the wildness of my hair whipping around my face. The wind is simultaneously a slap and a caress against my skin. I feel as though I am glowing. Totally alive.

My sex is humming, too, quivering, throbbing along with the engine of the car. Rick glances over at me. For the briefest instant, his eyes are pools of pure lust. Triumph and fear simultaneously seize me. He wants me. He’s dangerous. Then both emotions are submerged by the answering lust flooding through me.

“Take off your top,” he shouts at me above the wind. “I dare you.”

A silly notion, I think, but I want to do it. I want to feel the wind against my naked breasts. “Keep your eyes on the road,” I call back. I pull my blouse over my head and push it down in the space between the seat and the door so that it won’t blow away. Then I slip my bra straps off my shoulders and peel the cups away from my swollen nipples.

The air dances over my heated flesh, cool, provocative. “Go ahead, touch yourself,” Rick shouts. “You know you want to.”

He’s right, and suddenly I don’t care that he’s there, or what he thinks, I’ve got to pleasure myself. I grip my nipples between index and forefingers, squeezing until the sensation reaches the edge of pain. My cunt contracts as I release them, then contracts again at the exquisite tickling of their stiffness against my palms. The wind lashes my hair against my skin, sweet little stings that make me hunger for more intense sensation. My clit is so swollen that the slightest movement in the bucket seat sends sparks of pleasure shooting through my body.

Rick is yelling something again, but the wind carries his words away. He makes a rude gesture, pantomimes raising my skirt. I’m already in the process, wriggling against the seat belt as I try to pull the fabric out from underneath my bum. Finally, I manage to free my thighs from the skirt’s constriction. Looking straight at my companion, I pull my soaked panties out of the way with one hand, and sink the other one deep inside my hungering pussy.

Oh, I love the look on his face, shock, astonishment, arousal, but the sensations welling up in me are too intense to bear open-eyed. I’m not delicate. I don’t tease myself, don’t play, don’t take myself gradually to the top. No ceremony, no technique. Desperate, I use both hands, working with single-minded fury to bring myself off.

I forget Martell. I forget where I am, racing along a dangerous road at a dangerous speed with a dangerous man. There is no reality but the fire, the electricity, the tension crackling in my cunt like lightning in a thunderhead. I tilt my pelvis, forcing my fingers deeper into my slippery depths. My thighs stick to the leather seats as I rock back and forth. In and out, faster, harder, more, more please just a little more…

The climax is sudden and unexpected. A shattering like glass, fragments ripping gloriously through my stretched flesh. Momentary blackness cloaks the setting sun. When I finally open my eyes, I find I’m slumped in the seat, skirt and bra tangled around my waist, still trembling.

It takes me a moment to realize that the car has stopped. Martell is watching me in fascination, like a cat stalking a bird. He grins when he realizes that I’m back among the conscious. “Wasn’t that fun?” he asks, with heavy irony. Torn and tired as I am, his voice still sets up stirrings in my sex.

A Short but Sexy Spanking Snippet~~Perilous Play by Suz deMello (#satspanks #KU #kindle #BDSM #memoir)

There's more where this came from...

The spanking went on and on, with Trapper holding me tight and determinedly slapping my rump until, quivering, I could do nothing but gasp, “Please sir, please sir, please sir, please…” my usual refrain.

He hooded and gagged me. Using metal loops embedded in the black leather cuffs, he tied me to the four-poster bed spread-eagled, face down.

I shook with anticipation. He was going to spank me some more, and boy, I needed that. Needed the pain that would blossom into sweet pleasure when he entered me with his cock. Needed the fierce orgasms that would tear through my body, leaving me limp.

Here's what Perilous Play is about:

The Vampire's Kiss--from Blood is Thicker by Suz deMello (#vampire #romance #kiss @MFRW_ORG)

This week's assignment from TPTB at Book Boyfriends Cafe is a "hot kiss" scene. There's nothing hotter than an immortal's kiss...

Before I had time to register what he’d said, he gave me his pussy-warming smile, then leaned forward and kissed me.  He thrust his tongue into my mouth, and when it scraped past my sharp canines, I tasted his blood.
Yes.  I sucked greedily.  Sweet.  Rich.  John was a vampire, and he’d fed recently on young, healthy prey.  I let myself drown in that lushness for a moment.  It suffused my every cell with rapture, energizing me even though I went weak from pleasure.  Then I returned the favor, pushing my tongue into his mouth and searching for his canines, deliberately pressing into their edges to give him a part of myself, my blood.  The tiny cuts would heal quickly, while the mingling, the sharing would last forever.
An otherworldly tingle started in my lips and tongue, spreading over
my flesh like magic rainbows dancing over my skin.  All-encompassing pleasure wrapped me in ecstasy.  His kiss transported me into another world, a private, magical universe of bliss.  For a brief moment, nothing and no one else existed.  Desire flamed into violent life, capturing me with unbreakable bonds.  My clit quivered, and my pussy clenched with need.  I reached for John, grasping his jacket’s lapels, uncaring when I gripped so tight that my greedy, needy fingers tore the gray gabardine.
I cannot begin to describe the communion that’s created when two immortals connect.  Kissing is like an orgasm not only of the body, but of the mind and soul as well. (Yes, we have souls, unnatural though they may be).
I tugged him closer, frantic to feel his chest against mine, desperate for his cock to enter me. It had been so long... Besides, up close and personal, John’s sheer masculinity overwhelmed me.  I’d forgotten how seductive lust could be.  I could become addicted to his kiss, the hard planes of his body beneath my questing fingertips, his raw animal blood-scent.
I wanted to kiss John forever, and make love with him throughout eternity, but I was wary of becoming ensnared.  We immortals are a suspicious lot.  We don’t love very often.  We fear our fellows, and with good reason.
John could kill me.  The tiny sips we’d shared were tasty, but my heart’s blood would make him immensely powerful.

This kiss is from Blood is Thicker, a short story. Here's what it's about:

Genre: Paranormal action-adventure.

A century-old vampire, Rama is used to shadows and loneliness.

She uses the name Hestia White and lives in a coastal town working as a private investigator. If some bad guys disappear on her shift, no one cares…until John van Helsing shows up. Bearing the name of the vamps’ greatest foe, he interferes in her case and in her life.

Friend, lover or enemy?

Kryssie Fortune and the KNIGHTS VAMPIRE

 Introducing Kryssie Fortune...
Hi, Kryssie Fortune here.
I’ve dropped back to tell you about Harriet Mortlake, heroine in my latest book KNIGHTS VAMPIRE. She’s the archivist at Whitborough castle. Even though she’s almost six feet tall,  she’s around ten pounds overweight, and she hates it.
She was lucky to get such a prestigious job so soon after graduating. If the previous two archivists hadn’t vanished in unexplained circumstances, she might not have been so lucky. If she could just shake the someone’s-watching-me thing, life would be going great.
On the New Year’s Day before she graduated she started a diary….
Harriet Mortlake’s 2014 New Year’s diary.
01.01.2014   Start a new diet.  Failed
2.01.2014     Forget about men and aim for first class degree in Library science.
03.01.2014   Giggle with the girls in the dorm about the way I threw that creep out of my room. Honestly, he’s a jerk, but naked men are rare in the corridors of the university flats.
04.01.2014   Start a low carbohydrate diet. Failed.
04.01.2014   Buy a new outfit for the seminar, and make as many contacts as possible. God, have I really gone up a size?
05.01.0214   Cabbage soup diet Failed. I mean, have you tasted the stuff?
06.01.2014             Almost signed up for a slimming club, but decided I can’t afford it.
07.01.2014             Read up on anger management. I will never follow in my father’s footsteps.
08.01.2014             Switch to a low calorie diet. Failed.
09.01.2014             Visit Whitborough and explore its castle. Maybe enjoy fish and chips by the harbour.
10.01.2014             Learn to cook decent meals for one. I can’t live on chocolate, pasta and chips.
11.01.2014             Research past diets. Hey, that can’t be right. In the 1950’s did they really think swallowing a tapeworm would make you thin? I’m not even going to try that one.
12.01.2014             Try fasting for a day. Failed. I couldn’t get past breakfast
13.01.2014             Start research paper on Whitborough Castle.
14.01.2014             Start a meal replacement plan. Failed. Almost made it to dinnertime, but I’ve never been so hungry. I shouldn’t have walked past the coffee shop.
15.01.2014             Stay away from the university coffee shop. Failed  Their chocolate cake is to die for
16.01.2014             Tried Lord Byron’s vinegar and water diet. Failed. I think I’m going to throw up.
17.01.2014   This is my last entry. Looking at all those failed diets is just too depressing. I need chocolate to cheer me up.

Wondering what happened to the previous archivists or if someone is really watching Harriet? Find out in KNIGHTS VAMPIRE.

Betrayed by the Knight Defenders and murdered by his cousin, crusader knight Blaxton de Ferrers rose as a vampire. For nine centuries, he’s preyed on the people he once swore to protect. Gradually, as his emotions leach out of him, he forgets how to feel. Then he meets Harriet.

Harriet Mortlake’s a strong sassy woman who battles her weight and her temper. Her job is to seek out the ancient secrets of the castle that was Blaxton’s childhood home. Instead, she finds the love of her life.

When danger threatens Harriet, Blaxton steps in. Harriet and Blaxton, are a match made in heaven. Except… he’s a vampire and to fully claim her, he’ll have to kill her.
