A #Viking Sunday Snog from the Naughty List--coming soon! (@naughtyliterati #rafflecopter #romance #sundaysnog)

I'm pleased and proud to be part of the Naughty Literati's Naughty List, thirteen short stories to heat up those chilly winter nights.

The Naughty List is far from your usual vapid fare about kissing under the mistletoe and random sex at office Christmas parties. No--we have stories from the steamiest erotica to the most heart-warming happily ever after. We have medievals and futuristics,  ménages and committed couples rediscovering love. You want romance? You want hot sex? We have it all.

Almost as good is our Rafflecopter giveaway--a Kindle loaded with sexy reads.

Here's the 4-1-1 about Viking in Tartan, a medieval romance from the Highland Vampires series...A Viking raider brings change to little Clan Kilbirnie, especially to the chieftain’s daughter Rhona.

this story was a bit of a departure for me--I'd never written a medieval before. But it was fun!

Here's the snog:

“... I must warn you, you have found your way into the arms of a lost Viking.”

She jumped to her feet with a cry. “A Viking?” She dashed toward the cavern’s mouth.

He chuckled. “And where will you go, on this stormy winter night?”

“Oh.” She stopped and sank onto the cave’s floor.

“Quite so. Be not afeared, little mistress, nothing will happen to you that you do not desire.”

His voice had taken on a silken, mesmerizing quality, and she struggled to think clearly. “But what...what will become of me?”

“Be not afeared. I can take care of you. All your needs.”

He sat in front of her, taking her hands in his. She stared down at them. He had

large, capable hands, scarred here and there... She tried not to think of how he’d probably gotten those scars, but couldna.
“Are ye a...warrior?”

“A sea captain and a fighter, yea. I fight for King Haakon.”

She couldna stop her mouth from twisting.

“Look at me.” He gently squeezed her hands, which felt good.

She raised her gaze to his. His eyes were deep as the ocean and as compelling as the wild wind that had called her to freedom—or death—that night.

“Nothing will happen to you that you do not desire.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “I know what you need, dear one.”

Dear one. Her mother had called Rhona that when she’d been wee, before Mam had died in childbed. Rhona’s heart twisted in pain, then wrenched wide open and let him in.

Leaning forward, Erland stroked her cheek, gazed into her eyes and set his lips on hers.

Cool they were, but with an underlying fire. She recalled the feel of his leg between hers, rubbing her, and the memory enflamed her anew. Letting her eyes drift shut, she pushed her mouth against his, sure he held the key, knew the secret, could give her everything she’d ever wanted.

From where had that crazed thought sprung?

Her lids popped open, her eyes meeting his.

“Aye,” he murmured. “Everything.”

How did he ken her very thoughts?

Did that matter?

No, she decided. The how of it wasn’t important.

That he understood was enough...more than enough.

Rhona's First Vampire Kiss from "Viking in Tartan" by Suz deMello (@naughtyliterati #vikingromance #vampire #highlandromance)

Today this blog features several firsts!

First time for the cover of the anthology/boxed set I've been working on, the Naughty List, created by the Naughty Literati. We're a group of authors who have come together to throw out 4-5 boxed sets/anthos annually, and we're starting off our efforts with the Naughty List, a holiday anthology of short stories.

My contribution to the Naughty List is a short story, chronologically the first story in the Highland Vampires series. It's a medieval set in Scotland on Yule Eve in 1260.

In Viking in Tartan, a Viking raider brings change to little Clan Kilbirnie, especially to the chieftain’s daughter Rhona. What she--and her clan--don't know and never discover, is that Erland is a vampire from the far north of Scandinavia. Being inexperienced, she doesn't question why he likes to bite her neck and sip her blood, but she does wonder how she fell for him so quickly.

Here's the sexy excerpt, and the second "first" in this blog. This is Rhona's first kiss.

“Look at me.” He gently squeezed her hands, which felt good.

She raised her gaze to his. His eyes were deep as the ocean and as compelling as the wild wind that had called her to freedom—or death—that night.

“Nothing will happen to you that you do not desire.” His voice dropped to a
whisper.

If you like what you read, there's lots more! The other twelve talented authors in the Naughty Literati have written wonderful holiday stories I bet you'll love.

We don't have buy links yet as the antho won't be available, even for preorder, until the end of the month, but you can keep up with us at our site and on Facebook.

CHECK THIS SPACE ON NOVEMBER 15TH FOR THE COVER REVEAL! Our gifted cover artist, author Nicole Austin, has done a fabulous job--she had to find a great image plus fit the titles and names of all thirteen of us.

Rebekah R. Ganiere retells Snow White in a very #sexy way!

Don't let the subject matter fool you--this is a very steamy tale!

Snow the Vampire Slayer, Book Two in Rebekah's Farielle Series, is one you shouldn't miss.

Lady Snow Gwyn is tired of playing "mother" to her seven Vampire Slaying brothers. For the past two years, she's yearned to be out there fighting at their side as they hunt for bloodsuckers in the black of night. Snow is as good a fighter as any man, but she wasn't called to be a Slayer. A mere formality in her book.

Prince Sageren, Son of Lothar, has spent the last fifty years in exile, awaiting the day when he can finally avenge his family and take back his throne. Barely existing, he's forced to face his inner demons and the monster he once was, compelling him to vow to never drink from humans again. A simple enough task--until he crosses paths with a human who makes his fangs ache to drain her.

When Snow runs into Prince Sage on a late night trip to the woods, she's torn between the urge to kill him and the desire to succumb to the feeling he stirs within her. And when Snow's life is threatened by the same evil that murdered his family, Prince Sage must enlist the aid of Snow's brothers to not only help him save her life, but to also regain his rightful place as King of the Vampires.

If Sage can keep the Slayers from killing him first.

EXCERPT

She inhaled the scent of his leather jacket. It mixed with the musky scent of his skin and she was overcome with a sudden longing deep inside that had her pulse quickening. She cleared her throat and tried to calm the rush of heat in her veins.
An aura of danger surrounded him and the risk of the encounter thrilled her. But the graceful way he moved, the way he tracked her, stirred a note of warning inside her.
She tried to grab her sword, but his gaze fell upon her heavily and she found she couldn’t.
“What are you doing to me?”
He inched even closer, bent his neck and breathed her in. Her stomach clenched. She’d never craved a man’s touch so badly. She didn’t like it. “You’re using magick on me. I command you to stop.”
“You command me?” He gave her a wry smile that she wanted to smack off his face.
“Are you fae? A mage? What are you?”
“You’re bleeding,” he said.
“I fell. You didn’t answer my question.”
“No, I didn’t. Let me see it.”
Snow’s arm lifted though she willed it to stay down. “You’re infuriating.”
He took her palm gently in his cool grasp and unwrapped it. “Thank you.”
“Why are you doing that?”
“To make sure it heals,” he whispered. He lifted her palm, examining it, and let out a shuddered breath.
“Don’t touch it. I’ve already disinfected it.” Snow’s mind felt cloudy and thick, like she’d taken too much medicine. She wanted to pull her hand away, but she couldn’t. His touch was gentle and cool on her skin.
Something nagged at the edge of her mind. She should be afraid, but she couldn’t concentrate long enough to figure out why.
Sage reached down and sniffed her palm. Snow’s instincts screamed for her to run. When he licked her wound, she sucked in a breath. Somehow the feel of his skin touching hers made her knees almost buckle.
“What are you?” she asked again.
He lifted his mouth from her skin, his eyes glowing brightly in the moonlight.
Her brain finally caught up with her. No! It wasn’t possible. Her brothers had said that vampires were vile and evil. They were dead, blood-sucking killers. How could this handsome, sensual man possibly be the monster they hunted at night?
